Beneficial for which types of children?

Movement Lesson is recommended for every child starting from when they are born because movement patterns can always be perfected, therefore more connections are made in the brain and thus the potential capacities are increased. Any delay is a missed opportunity. Every deviation is a change in development.

For whom and for which complaints?

  • Prematurity, with or without neonatal care. Every medical intervention (absolutely necessary!) from intubation to intravenous drips and probes are anchor points that disrupt the healthy movement pattern and can delay the achievement of milestones;
  • A baby who feels stiff, has a single preferred position or moves asymmetrically;
  • A baby who feels passive or faint or when you suspect you have a lazy baby;
  • A baby who feels heavy or bulky like a bag of potatoes;
  • A baby or child suffering from cerebral palsy;
  • A child diagnosed with or presumably suffering from autism (the rotation pattern is extremely important in this instance);
  • Genetic abnormalities in which the movement pattern can be improved;
  • Hypersensitive or highly sensitive children (in this instance therapy helps with stimulus processing);
  • Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD)/Attention-Deficit/Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD)/Proprioceptive problems, concentration difficulties, dyslexia, dyscalculia, learning difficulties, reading
  • Children who have skipped milestones or do not reach the next milestone;
  • Children who at the age of 4 or 5 months do not roll over or only roll along one side;
  • Difficulty reaching milestones such as rolling over, getting up to sit, sitting, crawling, walking,…
  • Children who have to put in a lot of effort to reach milestones;
  • Children who experience difficulty crossing the midline;
  • In case of difficulty with the transitional milestones such as transitioning from a sitting to a crawling position or from supine to sitting position,…;
  • Visual field issues, strabismus, hyperopia, myopia,…;
  • Children who are seemingly clumsy, bump into everything,…;
  • Children who learn to walk later than their peers;
  • Children experiencing difficulties with gross and fine motor skills such as coloring, grasping/gripping, cutting, cycling,…;
  • To provide your child with the best possible starting position for cognitive and motor development.
  • Als extra ondersteuning, een kindje zonder problematiek kan ook enorm veel halen uit een Movement Lesson
